5 Stars wii cars game – great buy
my son (age 6) loves this game, it is easy for him to play on his own, well worth the price!

3 Stars No Really Pre-Schoolar Friendly
I bought this game for my 4 year old who is a ‘Cars’ fan. Though generally he enjoys it, I think it does not cater to pre-scholars who are not yet able to read. The controls for racing are too many e.g. press 1 for this , 2 for that, A for something else, B for another thing etc. The instructions are in the manual instead of on the screen, so everytime you forget how to do something you have to go back to the booklet. It would have been good if the instructions were on the screen and voiced, so that little kids could access them themselves instead of having to call Mom each time they need to perform a function they cannot remember. I give this product 3 stars instead of 2 stars just because my son still manages to play it.

1 Star Wii Cars
I was asked to review the product, but have never tested it. Sorry for poor rating.

The CD was not working. The Wii player is not able to read the disk. The game might be fun, and the reason for ordering it ! In the future I will buy games locally were it is easier to return it!

5 Stars Happy with the service provided
I’m very satisfied with the service provided along with fast shipping. I will certainly order again.

4 Stars Fun Game!
This game is a lot of fun. It has many different activities and it has good reaction to the wii remotes. The only thing I didn’t like is that some of the games you have to play to get to another level of play I couldn’t figure out and so I am kind of stuck in one area… I’m sure most kids can figure it our better than me.

Call of Duty World at War

March 18th, 2010

Call of Duty World at War

Building on the Call of Duty4: Modern Warfare engine, Call of Duty: World at War thrusts players into the ruthless and gritty chaos of WWII combat and challenges them to band together to survive the most harrowing and climactic battles in both the European and Pacific theaters. The title re-defines WWII games by offering an uncensored experience with unique enemies, jawdropping fire power like the flamethrower, and combat variety, including Kamikaze fighters, ambush attacks, Banzai charges and cunning tactics, as well as explosive on-screen action through all new cooperative gameplay.

Features:

  • Multiplayer – Call of Duty: World at War supports intense, online multiplayer action using the Call of Duty4: Modern Warfare engine. Bringing multiplayer to the Wii for the first time in the Call of Duty franchise, players will be able battle it out in a variety of game types, plus upgrade and customize characters by using perks and completing challenges.
  • Squadmate Mode – This single-screen cooperative mode lets players team up to play alongside friends and family. At any moment, a second Wii Remote can be activated, giving the second player their own aiming crosshair to provide cover and added firepower while fighting alongside their Squadmate.
  • Combat-Look – Call of Duty: World at War includes “Combat-Look” technology – as the player runs through the game’s diverse environments and topographies, the vertical line of sight discreetly adapts to keep players focused on the battlefield without having to radically adjust for uphill/downhill grade variations in the terrain. This system still allows complete freedom and mobility for targeting and results in a smoother and more playable Wii experience.
  • Wii Zapper Support – Call of Duty: World at War fully supports Nintendo’s Zapper controller through a customized game setting that allows the entire game, including multi-player, to be played with the Zapper. This customized setting adds a new way to play by incorporating unique gestures and button layouts that add to the Call of Duty experience.

5 Stars World at War = Awsomesauce!
NOTE: I AM REVIEWING A WII GAME, SO ALL OF MY RATINGS SHOULD BE READ IN THE CONTEXT OF A LOWER END CONSOLE.

Call of Duty is a solid title on almost all consoles, and World at War doesn’t disappoint. The graphics are, of course not as good as the Conduit, but they’re still pretty sweet for a Wii game.Call of Duty: World at War is a WW2 shooter with a two part campaign, the Marine Raiders and the Russian army. The Marine campaign is set in the pacific theater fighting the Japanese, and the Russian campaign is set in a urban area fighting Nazi Germany. The Marine part of the game is slightly cliched, and it plays a lot like most any other WW2 game(Call of Duty 3, Medal of Honor games etc.) , although it also has a lot of differences, like the jungle setting, the use of flamethrowers, and cool vehicle play, which makes it fun, if a little boring it times. The Russian campaign is set in the same old WW2 urban environment, but it’s still very interesting.

The online play is AWESOME(and addictive), with a huge variety of weapons, perks, and interesting maps. One thing the online mode lacks however, is different game modes, like Capture the Flag, War, and others. Also the Wii version is missing maps. you won’t see Roundhouse, Airfield and more, but you still have a decent nine selections.Kill streaks are good, as always, and friend codes are…interesting.

That’s it for the overview, here’s the ratings.

–Campaign:

-Gameplay: 8.0/10.0 Good, not great.

-Graphics: 8.0 Good for a Wii game…

-Framerate: 9.0 Very good.

-Sound Effects: 9.0 Very good.

-Weapons: 8.0 Pretty good.

-Controls: 8.0 Nice n’ smooth.

-A.I.s: 9.5 Great!

Overall: 8.5 Very good.

–Online:

-Gameplay: 9.5 Awesome!

-Weapons: 9.5 Awesome!

-Perks: 9.5: Awesome!

-Maps: 8.5 Very good.

-Kill Streaks: 9.0 Great!

Overall: 9.5 AWESOMESAUCE!

Total: 8.8

This is a great game for the wii, one of, if not the best first person shooters on the market.

4 Stars Intense, Exhilirating, Awesome
I’m not a regular gamer- didn’t growup with the joystick glued to my hand and I don’t claim to know much about the hundreds of other wargames on the market- but I found this game to be both challenging and intense. You can sit for hours playing this game and not even realize time has passed. The game is designed to challenge both your motor skills and your ability to react under pressure. You’ll face snipers that move as steatlh like as cats, tanks that will blow apart everything around you and flamethrowers that will burn you to a crisp- and you will enjoy it! The only irritating thing about this game is that no British soldiers were used- only American and Russian- thus overlooking a key part of the war against Nazi Germany. I sold my game after a few weeks as I realized that I was becoming too addicted to playing it.

5 Stars This is a non-biased review for a Wii FPS for a change..
The Wii may not have the horsepower of the PS3, but it does have have the motion sensing remote and numchuck, which in theory make controlling a FPS as good or better on the Wii as the FPS system of choice: the PC. Unfortunately, many Wii games are hard to control or have ridiculous Wii-waggle BS thrown in and don’t realise the little console’s potential. I’m here to tell you Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is not one of those hastily ported PS2 games with dumb Wii gimmicks thrown in.

The game controls beautifully with the numchuck in one hand and the wii remote in the other. I don’t have a zapper gun and I wouldn’t worry about it if you don’t either. The game is suitably difficult so that even an old school gamer like myself who has played plenty of Call of Duty’s and other FPS’s finds it challenging. The Presentation is good. You won’t mistake this for a PS3 game, but it doesn’t look like a PS2 port. The graphics are well done if not cutting edge.

You can find other details from the numerous reviews or do a search of Youtube for a video, but the bottomline is Call of Duty for the Wii is fun. Sure, if you have a fast pc, then you should play FPS’s on it, duh, but if you like to sit back on the couch when you do your 1940’s style fragging and the Wii is your console of choice I can whole heartily recommend Call of Duty World at War.

1 Star Not for Immature or faint hearted
This so called game is NOT for the immature, even if the gamer is 14 yrs and over. The depiction of violence and harm towards another human being is disparaging to say the least. To think that there are software writers that have such gross imaginations, it makes one wonder. This is a very bad..I can’t even call it a game….it’s just too, too violent and graphic. How sad. I spent $50.00 for nothing other than their profit. This product is disgusting! The description should read that eyes balls are poked out and put on fire! This would deter mothers and grandmothers from making purchases as a surprise. The joke was on me!

3 Stars Meh, decent from a technical POV, aesthetics are terrible though
I’ll start with the positives and then go into the areas of the game I did not like. The controls in this game are fantastic! Really well thought out and smooth. From a technical point of view, the game has a lot going for it. However, the aesthetics and feel of the game are completely disconnected from the thematic era taking place in WW2. For example, the intro movie when you start the game is done up with modern visual effects and techno music playing in the background. They throw in some WW2 pictures and somehow think that this will set the scene and get us in the mood, which it absolutely does not (for me anyway). You can’t have modern CGI and music mixed in with old school themes. It doesn’t work guys! It takes away from the immersive experience completely. The designers of this game need to sit down and watch some old WW2 films like PT109 or Tora Tora Tora to get some ideas on what is needed to help improve aesthetics.

In closing, because the feel and experience of playing games is so important to me I had to knock some points off my rating of it. Games should be an enjoyable, memorable experience. You should be able to completely immerse yourself in them, having a complete feel for what is going on and picturing yourself there with the guys in the trench fighting back in 1941. This game just doesn’t give me that feeling.

Wii Dual Charge Station and Turbo Cooler

Cool down your Wii’s temperature and charge your Remotes with Intec’s Dual Charging Station with Turbo Cooler. Keep your Wii remotes charged at all times for non-stop 24/7 gaming The built in Turbo Cooler keeps the Wii internal components cool at all times, preventing unnecessary overheating

User Ratings and Reviews

1 Star looks cool, but sucks
A week or two after getting it we had to start sticking paper in the wii remote slot so it would touch the controller to charge (loose) and makes a horrid noise.. looks great but was a waste of money IMHO.

1 Star Don’t waste your money!!!
I purchased this charge station for my kids wii. This station lasted about a month before it completely stopped working along with my wii. Finally got the wii to work again after being on the phone with customer service for an hour. Do not use this charger with your wii. It will mess your wii gaming console up!!!

2 Stars Fan stopped working after a few months
I purchased this because my husband and I were going there a lot of batteries on the wii remotes. This appeared to be perfect because it not only charged the remotes but also cooled the Wii. When it worked, this was a great product. It was compact, quiet and stylish. The price was reasonable at the time, but since the item stopped working so soon after purchase, it is not worth it. I would look for a different item that was more reliable.

2 Stars Nice idea, bad execution
I don’t like this charging station because you have to remove the silicone covers and the lanyard just to fit them in. After some use two of the contacts have pushed themselves inside the unit and so one side doesnt work unless I open up the whole unit and push them back. After I pushed them back they just bent back inside after one use. I hope that the contact-less charger with four batteries out-performs this gadget. The fan does cool on this machine, but I’m probably going to give up on this one soon as it’s loudish.

5 Stars Great item
I love that i can charge both units and keep the console cool. great idea. highly recommend

Rayman Raving Rabbids

Rayman Raving Rabbids brings you back to the world of Rayman, just as it’s being threatened by demonic rabbits! With the help of magical creatures, Rayman must battle to save his world from the bunnies. It’s a great way for Rayman to punch his way onto a next-gen platforms!

User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars Fun, but not for young kids
We have a three year old daughter and a five year old son. I thought that this would be fun for them… but it is waaaay to complicated for them. An example would be the disco game, this game requires extreme rhythm! However, the adults LOVE it! The mummy-bunnies are hilarious! It’s a little like watching a cartoon character getting that much deserved beating. For all those parents thinking about buying this for their child(ren), it requires concentration, rhythm, and precision.

4 Stars Fun for everyone
This game is great when you have friends over. The different tasks are really challenging. Kids and adults love this one.

3 Stars Not a bad game, nothing special
I got this game real cheap and it was worth the price. I have heard that part 2 is better. My wife like it a lot when we first got it, but it hasn’t been played since.

3 Stars This game was alright…
We played it, actually I played it, for at the most a couple hours the night we got it. It was fun, fast paced, but repeatative.

3 Stars Rabbids too difficult?
No, the mini games are a lot of fun. HOWEVER because of the way the game is set up you have to complete a minimum of three mini games out of four for each day and then the main challenge for that day before you are put back into your prison cell (the only place the game gets saved). Some of the tasks are interesting, fun and funny but they can be difficult to master and succeed at, so if you’ve just spent some time getting something right you’re going to have to throw away your progress UNLESS you have the time to tackle two more mini games and a final challenge. It would be nice if the game allowed you to save right after each mini game when you’ve finally succeeded in getting a difficult one right, as it is the method of saving only at the end of each game day makes what should be a fun experience tedious.

The game makes great use of the strengths of the Wii controls in some very imaginative and funny scenarios and if it’s at bargain bin prices it is well worth it just for that. You would have to be dedicated to complete the game, though, because of the game mechanics.

Super Paper Mario

March 17th, 2010

Super Paper Mario

The newest chapter of the Paper Mario story isn’t just out of this world…it’s out of this dimension! What at first glance appears to be a 2-D sidescroller ripped straight from the stylized pages of the Paper Mario universe soon turns into a hilarious dimension-shifting platformer possible only on Wii! 2-D…AND 3-D! Run through vibrant 2-D worlds, stomping on enemies and breaking blocks….then, with the press of a button, flip into 3-D! In the 3rd dimension, you’ll find hidden paths, battle foes, and uncover secrets as you explore the previously invisible depth of the 2-D landscapes! Unique Wii controls! Hold the Wii Remote sideways and control the game in classic Super Mario Bros. style! You can shake the Wii Remote to pull off stylish moves and break out of frigid ice and even point directly at the screen to get helpful hints from your sidekick. Not only that, but you’ll also play as Peach and Bowser, both with their own sets of essential skills. Hilarious adventure! When a mysterious villain kidnaps Peach and Bowser and forces them to get married, their union creates a rift of dark energy that threatens to tear the universe apart! Hilarious characters, laugh-out-loud plot twists, and unforgettable dimensions await as Mario makes his way through eight worlds, each more memorable than the last!

4 Stars Not as good as the first 2 Paper Marios
Super Paper Mario isn’t quite as good as the first 2 Paper Marios, but it’s still a fun game. The graphics look great in 2D, the game has a lot of replay value, and there are 4 different characters to use. Super Paper Mario is probably the third best Mario game on Wii after Super Mario Galaxy and Mario Kart Wii. I rate this game 89/100.

1 Star Don’t be fooled
I’m sorry. This game was absolutely terrible. It is honestly not worth your money, unless you get a really cheap price. There were hours of text you had to sit through, and no joke, the game actually got easier and easier as you progress instead of harder. The final battle with the main “bad guy” was a joke. I think I pressed one button and the game did everything else for me. More text…. then…. I won?? I was so disappointed. I was expecting the final battle to be tough. Im sorry I wasted my money. I immediately traded it in.

If you like reading mario stories that are oddly intentionally humorous, and dont even want to press any buttons or actually dont even want to play a game at all, then buy this, because the game pretty much beat itself while i sat there and watched(read).

1 Star Super Essay Paper Mario
Love to read VOLUMES of text for hours. Then this is your game. This game is just horrible. I can’t believe it’s a Nintendo product. I knew that it wasn’t going to be a Super Mario Bros. type game but wow this was bad. The graphics are laughable and I’m not one to care about graphics. The game play isn’t even that fun. You spend more time walking to places with the slow poorly rendered characters then you do trying to figure out what to do. But good god the text in this. I’ve never seen a game with this amount of reading. I would love to see the script for this game because i would guess it would hundred’s of pages long. Some of the writing is a bit witty. But after reading for 20 or more minutes you could care less about some witty quip Mario just said. Please do not waste any money on this game. Just do yourself a favor and buy a book. You’ll read less with a book.

5 Stars gift for a friend
I gave this to my friend as a birthday present because she requested it :) She said it’s a fun game.

4 Stars Super Mario, the Epic, and the Quest
I bought this game for my family since Super Mario Galaxy had made us dizzy on numerous occasions (traversing all those globes got to be disorienting). I guess I was also looking for something familiar and semi-nostalgic since I had grown up with the original NES.

Paper Mario is advertised as being playable in 2d or 3d, but both formats are necessary to solving puzzles presented therein. At first, flipping back and forth seems a bit annoying, but after a while it’s pretty fun; you forget you can even do it until you’re stumped, and then it’s as if you’re looking at a problem from a totally new perspective (which in fact you are!).

Longtime fans of Mario’s hijinks will not be disappointed with this release. All the familiar themes are there, as are the characters. The princess still needs saving, Koopa’s still making trouble, and there are a whole lotta tricks, traps, and challenges awaiting our moustaschioed hero.

If I had to single out one annoyance, it would be the overly wordy dialogue that establishes the plot and runs throughout the game. In the old days, they simply said “rescue the princess,” and off you went. now there are numerous dialogues at every step (something that will try the patience of older NES fans).

But the wordiness and dialogue isn’t a total wash. In laying out what is essentially Campbell’s 17 steps of the hero’s journey, it’s closer to traditional epic than perhaps any other game I have seen.

But most importantly, it’s a fun game… and a worthy successor to the Mario’s of old.
