3 Stars Fair
My son is not interested in this game yet. Once we purchase the drums he may be more interested in in it.
5 Stars Fun for everyone, better than Twister!
I picked this up with the Wii Beatles release and am so happy to have my kids learning the songs I grew up with! The drums are great, the guitar is better than regular Wii issue. My wife and I held off on electronic games, nintendo, Xbox, all the others because there is no action like the Wii where you stand, jump, and reall move around. Skeptical at fiirst when thei (Wii) arrived, but totally sold now! Don’t wait another day, get one NOW!
3 Stars I may be biased since I played Guitar hero first
As the title states I may be biased since I played Guitar Hero III first, but this game feels less intuitive then Guitar Hero. Although this game has some gem songs that Guitar Hero III doesn’t have, I feel that Guitar Hero III has the superior soundtrack. As I type this I’m getting ready to sell Rock Band 1 and the instruments in favor of Guitar Hero World Tour.
4 Stars Addicting and Fun but missing features
Okay, NOW I get the hype behind this game. It’s great fun and can be quite addictive. The Wii and PS2 versions are missing features that are standard on the 360 and PS3 versions. But it’s still a great game.
2 Stars Fun Game
First, it’s not really a ‘game’- it’s just musical instruments for people who don’t play musical instruments. That said, I dig it a lot. So for the most part, does the family; we each have our own instrument( Microphone, Drums and Guitar- I rock out the drums.) This is probably the only Wii “game” that I play regularly because again, it’s not really a game. Still, as fun as it is, I get the sense from reading reviews of Rockband II, Rockband for other systems (i.e. XBOX, and PS3), or Guitar Hero (any) that this version for the Wii was rather skimpy on alot of aspects. And truthfully, the game is pretty repetitive and not very…optionable, i.e. you just play notes. It would have been interesting to ‘progress’ in the tour mode- like choose and create characters, clothing, etc. The songs are also somewhat limited, and for Wii Rockband, you can’t download like XBX and PS3, only buy TrackPacks, which is a downer. The level of difficulty is good though and it offers different playability once you get through a song with a good handle on it. Still I like it alot, and so does the fam, making it more than likely that I will look into GuitarHero or RB2 in the future. If I’d have had the choice now, I would have gone for RB2. But with no music background whatsoever, RB has piqued my interest.
