Code Lyoko Quest for Infinity

In Code Lyoko: Quest for Infinity, Franz Hopper has created a new Lyoko. At the same time, Jeremy has built new equipment that will allow the Lyoko Warriors to explore the Digital Sea: new weapons, new gear and more importantly, a new vehicle called the Skid. Everything seems to be going well until Franz Hopper mysteriously disappears. In their search to find him and bring him back the Code Lyoko heroes are infected with a virus and after they have returned to the real world they realise that virtual copies of them have remained in Lyoko! Throughout this adventure – full of twists and turns – they delve deep into the Digital Sea in search of the mysterious creature that infected them. They need to defeat their virtual copies while stopping the continuous attacks of X.A.N.A, but most of all they need your help to succeed! With an emphasis on team interaction, puzzle solving, exploration and intense combat, this game will provide an exciting gaming experience for players of all ages. Fight, explore, drive and hack your way to victory in this action packed RPG adventure in the digital realm! Carry out spectacular actions with the Wii pad and use it to explore new ways of controlling your character and environment! ESRB Rated E10 for gamers aged 10 and up

5 Stars Fun but maybe too Scary for your younger kids
My 6yo son loves the Code Lyoko cartoon series, and absolutely loved this game–WORD OF WARNING–until he got to one of the higher levels. Then there was a certain monster that really scared him (he even had a nightmare). I think the monster was called a “Tank” or something . . .

4 Stars Good Game but Needed More
This was a great game in itslef but it lacked some key factors. While it represented the 3-D aspects of the show terrifically it left much to be desired. The animated sequences of the show are boiled done to a few seconds of dialogue and a cutscene. There is nearly zero interactivity in these sections giving the game a feeling of all-action and little story. This means that you really should have seen the show before getting the game. On top of this, what little story there is deviates from the show. Don’t get me wrong I liked it besides its faults for its great battle mechanics and puzzles in the 3-D portions. So if you just want to fight like a Lyoko Warrior and forget the story then this is your game.

2 Stars Not worthy of the name
Everything about this game gives me the impression that it was rushed out the door without being tested thoroughly, and that’s just sad. Even the DS game was better than this.

The game loosely follows the plot of the fourth and final season of the show, ending with the freeing of William from Xana’s control; the gameplay is almost exclusively confined to Lyoko, with the option to switch between characters at will depending on which weapon or ability you want to use. Also, in addition to the four original sectors and Sector 5, there’s a new volcanic sector.

To be fair, the graphics are competent for the most part, if a little vanilla, and the voice acting is entertaining; I especially like the option to switch between English and subtitled French, probably the only opportunity American Code Lyoko fans will ever have to hear the characters’ voices as they were originally performed. It’s worth pointing out too that the bits in the Digital Sea were fun, although the weapons took some getting used to. But everything else about this game just seems horribly broken to me.

For one thing, every time I played a level on the new volcanic sector, the graphics started to lag and everything suddenly turned maddeningly slow and jerky. For another, the characters’ weapons are completely unbalanced; of the four, only Odd has a ranged weapon that can be fired while running–Aelita has to completely freeze every time she fires, and Yumi and Ulrich’s weapons are so ridiculously short-ranged that you almost have to be right on top of the enemies before they start to take any damage–so you’ll probably end up using Odd almost exclusively. (Incidentally, why does Ulrich start off only using one saber when you can see two hilts on his back?) The health stations and checkpoints are scattered throughout the levels more or less at random, and Aelita’s connect-the-dots block building and Odd’s Metroid-style wall jumping take entirely too much getting used to. Add in the fact that there’s no camera control, and you could hardly be blamed for suspecting that the designers are indeed out to get you.

But the biggest slap in the face is the ending, or the lack of one; once you’ve beaten the game, you’re treated to a clip that lasts about five seconds and a credits sequence that’s identical to the one from the show, the one with the Subdigitals song and the file folder. That’s all the game has to reward you with; hardly worth the effort it took to get there. I was also stunned to see that the game doesn’t even allow you to explore Kadic Academy beyond a tiny strip outside the main gate; and although the other characters from the show are hanging around, talking to them yields almost nothing except the occasional “goodie” (usually a still frame from the show or a bit of concept art). One thing I did enjoy was a gallery of entries from a contest that was apparently held at some point; I don’t know any of the details, but it was still fun to see some original monster designs from the fans. I can’t recommend this game for hardcore Code Lyoko fans, because it doesn’t add anything to the story that you didn’t already get by watching the show, and the game doesn’t provide nearly enough background for non-fans to have any hope of following the plot. And either way, the gameplay is so broken that it’s not worth the money. Give it a miss.

4 Stars Code Lyoko
My son enjoyed this game because you get to be different characters in the game play. He said he enjoys watching the Code Lyoko show on TV and now he can enjoy playing and being the different characters.

ezJam Guitar for Wii Guitar Hero and Rock Band Wireless

Wii Combo Guitar/ GH III

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars GOOD GUITAR FOR RB AND GH
No problem with this item, can play rock band, rock band 1, gh iii, gh iv,, gh metallica, acdc pack,

whammy bar is secure,

i great option for avoid 2 guitars.

1 Star terrible product!
When I ordered this guitar I saw all the bad reviews for it, and hoped that the few good reviews were correct…. The only reason I bought this guitar was for the Beatles Rockband (I have guitar hero guitars and did not think they would work.) The guitar would not connect correctly and some of the buttons did not register at all. The guitar looks and feels cheaply made. The strum bar is very loud, and so are the fret buttons. I do NOT recommend purchasing this item at all! After I realized that it did not work I tried using my Guitar Hero World Tour controller and it worked just fine.

1 Star As poor as they come…
My wife got me one for my b-day; they sent 2…. on the first one I tried, the whammy bar was non-responsive. On the second one, the strap button was broken upon taking it out of the box and up-strumming does not work. These guitars are made of the poorest materials and look like they were put together by a 4-year old.

Definately not worth 1/2 of what the price is. Stay away from this product and anything that this company produces if this is a sign of their quality, workmanship and customer service. My worst experience ever with a product I’ve gotten from Amazon.

1 Star No good.
These things are way too expensive for what they are actually worth. The strum doesn’t even work half the time. There weren’t any instructions, screws for the battery cover were missing, and a piece of the side was broken. I had them for about a week and I returned them.

It’s a cool idea but this guitar fell flat… flat in the box and back to Amazon.

1 Star Too many problems
I bought this because it claimed to be compatible with both Rockband and Guitar Hero. For Guitar Hero, I found that the whammy bar didn’t work which made the guitar very difficult to use battle mode, as one of the “attacks” requires rapped whammy usage to clear. The tilt sensor used to trigger overdrive for both Rockband and Guitar hero never functioned. I don’t know if those problems were due to a defect in the guitar controller that I received or is a general problem, but in general I found the controller to be of questionable quality, for instance the strum bar is quite loose, when compared to either the Guitar Hero or the Rockband OEM controllers.

Rune Factory Frontier

Rune Factory Frontier

From the creators of Harvest Moon and Rune Factory for the DS comes the first installment of the Rune Factory series for a home console. Developed exclusively for the Nintendo Wii, Rune Factory: Frontier is a singleplayer adventure that features all the popular life Sim gameplay and hack and slash role-playing fans know and cherish, but now with the stunning graphics and flexibility of the Wii’s unique control system to fully immerse players in the Rune Factory universe.

The Story
Our hero enters the frontier, where no one dares enter, to cultivate the unforgiving soil. As time passes, his lonely town of one becomes a town of two, three…until it grows into a town to behold. The town is not the only thing to behold. Among the newcomers are beautiful ladies who have moved to the town to start a new life. Which one will be our hero’s lucky lady? However, our hero is soon faced with a problem. Creatures of the frontier, many of them hostile towards humans, pose a great threat to the safety of his townsfolk. To find a way to live in peaceful coexistence or perhaps destroy them along with the danger they bring – the decision is up to our hero.

Gameplay
As with previous related games, Rune Factory: Frontier features a myriad of Life Sim activities like farming, raising livestock, building relationships with NPCs, etc., as well as role-playing elements like dungeon crawling and item collection and leveling, but in structuring gameplay it goes to great lengths to incorporate an open-ended structure that allows players to choose the type of game they wish to experience at all points in the game. This means that although at the beginning of the game players will find themselves presented with the familiar opportunity of starting a farm, selling their crops at market and by doing so improving the overall prosperity and size of their town, they are not necessarily tied to the land. Although farming is an excellent way to finance adventuring, the rich RPG elements of the game can be pursued at any time. These elements present themselves mostly in the form of battling monsters and bosses that have found their way into the land, but seem to be coming from the mysterious ‘Whale Island,’ which floats in the sky above your town. Players can either battle the monsters or make friends with them, raising them as a kind of livestock. As with everything in Rune Factory: Frontier, the choice is yours. Whether it’s growing crops, expanding the town, fighting (or befriending) monsters or even falling in love, the experience is unique to each player.

Key Game Features:

  • Lifelike Interactions – NPCs will come and go based on the player’s actions. Want to get along with your neighbor? Want to give fellow townsfolk something they might hate? Go ahead, but they may get upset and leave the town. Be nice to attract more newcomers.
  • Natural Ecosystem – Breathe life into the barren wilderness by cultivating it and planting crops. Small creatures (spirits) will gather first, triggering a food chain to later attract larger and rarer creatures. You are responsible for bringing more fertility to the land.
  • Floating Island to Explore – There is an island that floats in the skies. When you see it, you must quickly find a way to get on it as new discoveries await.
  • Intuitive Wii Controls – Use the Wii Remote and Nunchuk to do everything. Plow the land, shake hands with townsfolk to strengthen relationships, or even wave it around when you’re on a date with a girl. (Also compatible with the Classic Controller.)
  • Open-ended Play Structure – Whether you prefer Life Sim gaming, Action RPG action or a mix of both, Rune Factory: Frontier lets you game as you want, when you want.
  • Console DebutFrontier is the console debut of the popular Rune Factory series.

4 Stars This game is the bomb!!! Sim Farming is great!
This game is amazing. I have alway loved harvest moon. If you do not own this game go and out a copy now. I snagged a copy from magvideogames since they only ship priorty. They only had 2 left in stock. On the Wii when I harvest my crops I make it feel like a workout. I wonder how many chickens I will have to kill to save up to get Harvest moon for the SNES.

5 Stars great game
this game is great. so much to do. in the first 3 days ive owned this game, ive played for like 16 hours and there is sooo much i havent even come close to doing yet. this game will be good for at least 100 hours of gameplay. you definately want to buy this game.

4 Stars Very entertaining
I love the game. The only thing I did not like is the farming, takes a lot of time and energy and gets boring after awhile

3 Stars It fills up some time
This game can be very fun at times, it just seems to be an issue of doing the same repetitive tasks over and over again. Unless you read a guide or know somebody who plays the game, figuring out certain things on your own can be very difficult. I’m not a big fan of RPG style games with a “timed” aspect, and this game is totally centered around time along with seasons and day of the week. Overall though if you can sit and play it for a couple of hours a day it can be enjoyable, just very time consuming and at times repetitive. Gameplay as a whole is very easy to figure out your controls, it has pretty grahpics, the fishing system takes a few tries to get it down but is not very complicated and the same for the battle system. It is an open play style RPG, so if you like structured quest style RPG’s this probably isn’t the game for you.

5 Stars Best Harvest Moon
I am very happy with this game. There is so much to do, but you dont have to do anything before you are ready. The dungeons are great, because they break up the day. You are not just planting crops any more. I am addicted to it, and sometimes neglect other things in order to play it.
