5 Stars Rockband 2
This game is so much fun!I rock really hard on medium. I think a lot of people play this game. Sometimes people ‘nod’ at me and I think it’s like a secret ‘I play RB2, too’ kind of nod.

5 Stars For those who press start, we salute you!
This game is AWSOME! The guitar playing is actually smoother than Guitar Hero, the DLC alone is a LOT better too. My only complaint is the create-a-player isn’t as deep, I would’ve loved to make a Ranma Saotome just to say ‘I jammed with Ranma!’ Yeah, I’m an otaku.

Anyway, great game, great music, great DLC, great overall.

4 Stars Great family fun!
We love this.

We had Guitar Hero World Tour but it just wasn’t as much fun.

The drums were way too hard. None of us could do them well.

This works with the same instruments – guitar, microphone, bass; but the drums are not the same layout. Got a set of wireless Rock Band drums and they work great.

We have a lot of fun playing this a family and the kids’ friends love it too!

4 Stars A Wonderful Improvment over the Series… Especially for the Wii
The original Rock Band for Wii came as somewhat of a disappointment for music game lovers. You could rock out with friends yes, but the lack of the other fun options that set Rock Band apart from Guitar Hero (custom character creation being the most obvious deletion) brought down the game. Rock Band 2 is exactly the same on Wii as it is on any other system, custom character creation and all included. It is so awesome to see a character that you created come to life on stage. All of your old equipment will work on this game (All of the Guitar Hero guitars released for the Wii work with Rock Band 2 as well.) My only real complaints with RB2 is that some of the songs are just not a lot of fun to play and are WAY too long to be enjoyable (Teen Age Riot by Sonic Youth and Everlong by The Foo Fighters are a few examples.) However, the sheer number of songs that are available on the disc and the number that you can download (some of which are free) make Rock Band 2 a must play if you enjoy music games.

5 Stars Rock Band 2
Got my nephews Rock Band this is a great additon to give them move songs to play.

Resident Evil The Umbrella Chronicles

This action/shooter hybrid reveals the back story behind the fall of the Umbrella Corporation by exploring locations from Resident Evil 0, 1, 2 and 3 as well as new never-before-seen locations, such as Umbrella’s stronghold. Classic locations from previous Resident Evil games in full 3D, including the mansion from the original and RE 0, and elements of Raccoon City from RE2 and 3. Umbrella’s stronghold, a new location, holds many secrets to events throughout the RE series. Returning characters from many RE games, including Billy Coen, Rebecca Chambers, Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine and Carlos Oliveira. ESRB Rated M for Mature

User Ratings and Reviews

1 Star Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles
I expected this game to have the same level of graphics as Resident Evil 4, but it sure does not. Don’t purchase it or you will be disappointed if you played Resident Evil 4.

1 Star What a Disappointment!
After playing Resident Evil 4 on our WII system, and thoroughly enjoying it, we were excited to experience Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles. It may be that we just don’t enjoy “rail shooter” games, but both my husband and I really disliked the game. So much so that we went out and bought a PlayStation 3 System. There just aren’t enough good games available for WII.

3 Stars I didnt like it as I do with RE4
This is more a personal review, there isn’t nothing wrong with the game itself, but I enjoy the RE4 much more thatn this, the interface of plain FPS is of course good but the type of RE4 is much more enjoyable.

5 Stars Great Rail Shooter
This game is great for what it is. Compared to other rail shooters, this game is the best in terms of graphics and gameplay.

People can’t compare this game to Resident Evil 4. It’s a completely different game. It’s like saying how Super Mario is nothing like Halo so therefore it sucks.

5 Stars AWESOME way to enjoy the story all over again!
What can I say?! I really enjoyed this game. I’m a Wii owner and found this to be a terrific interface with the system. The voice commentary you hear as you move on the rails through the many different levels is really terrific, the cut scenes are inviting, and I found myself really emerced in a VERY challenging first person on the rails shooter. I challenge anyone to get S class on everything on Hard mode!

Boom Blox

Boom Blox

BOOM BLOX, is the first game developed in collaboration between two giants of multimedia entertainment, Electronic Arts and director/producer, Steven Spielberg. Spielberg is obviously a master storyteller and so knows a thing or two about blockbusters, but he also no stranger to the gaming world. A long-time gamer himself, he conceived the original idea behind Lucas Art’s PC/Mac title The Dig, but busting these BLOX is an entirely new concept.

A Puzzle/Action game inspired by Spielberg’s own search for a game that he would enjoy playing with his own kids, BOOM BLOX is designed specifically with the strengths and versatility of the Wii in mind. In it players can look forward to a fast-paced gameplay blending the simplicity of the wildly popular block game Jenga and the crazy complexity of a Rube Goldberg machine–devices that although performing very simple tasks are designed to do it by the most complicated means possible.

BOOM BLOX features over three hundred levels, a variety of activities, a cast of over thirty wacky characters, and an easy-to-use in-game editor that allows players to express their creativity. It’s visceral gameplay is perfectly suited for the Wii’s interactivity. The action gets going fast and the fun never ends as you throw baseballs, blast lasers, save wacky animal characters, explore cool worlds and more!… making it the ultimate Wii blox-buster for 2008.

  • Throw, grab, and blast your way through 300+ levels – Use fun action gestures and crazy virtual tools (like bowling balls, baseballs and fire hoses) to destroy your way through over 300 brain-twisting challenges.
  • Fast-paced Multiplayer Action – Fun for kids and the entire family, BOOM BLOX offers action-packed interactive activities that takes Wii play to a new level of creativity and fun with single player, co-op, and versus gameplay. Up to 4 players at once.
  • Over 30 Wacky Characters set in 5 Unique Worlds – Tackle the action and interact with entertaining characters such as the Blox-laying chickens or the baseball throwing monkeys, who bring personality to the Tiki, Medieval, Frontier, and Haunted themed environments.
  • Make It Your Own/Share – Unlock characters, worlds, blox, and props throughout the game and use to build whatever you can imagine in Create Mode. You can virtually build anything you can dream up. Remix any level and share what you create with friends via WiiConnect24TM.

Endless Play and Replay Combinations
Built upon a full real-time physics model, each player’s BOOM BLOX experience can be as easy or difficult as you want it to be. Additionally, players can remix any level of the game in Create Mode using props, blocks, or characters that have been unlocked during the game. Players can also virtually build anything they can dream up. This makes for nearly endless play and replay options in what promises to be the latest must-have Wii title for the entire family.

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars You will thank yourself if you buy this game.
I played this game at a friend’s house when I was on vacation and loved it so much that I bought it the first week I was home.

4 Stars Sleeper hit…one of the best “anyone can play’ Wii games
Boom bloxs is Zany!

The backgrounds are strange and the pace of the game is quick and filled with short vinyets. But, if you unlock all the game modes it turns boom blocks into one of the best party games I’ve ever played. Some of the 4 player simultaneous modes are super fun. In some modes its a 4 players vs the computer and in some its 4 against each other (and every game mode in between). The did make a second game and I will get that one too, I think the second game has the party mode more in the forefront. Boom blocks is a must have for anyone that likes puzzles and goofy fun for all ages and abilities.

5 Stars BEST GAME EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My sister’s friend came to our house today and brought this game.I did not play it for long but I tried all the modes and this game was one of my favorite games ever.If you read the one star review do not listen to it.The speed and strength of when you throw does not effect the game. You can throw as weak or strong as you like and the game would still work. There are three kinds of levels and I think that people of all ages would enjoy this game.

5 Stars Best Game For The Wii
It doesn’t get any better. This game is one of the best if not the best game for Wii. You have more fun with this game then any other I can think of. Its not only great for kids its even more fun for adults. It is well worth the price – trust me, you will not be disappointed. Its outrageous fun destroying things and just playing this game period.

5 Stars Fun Family game
This game was alot of fun and very challenging. Its a great game for all age groups. I just wish it had alot more 3-4 player levels. I havent got the newer version yet I hope its as fun if not more.

Rabbids Go Home

Tuesday, December 29th, 2009

Rabbids Go Home

Rabbids Go Home is a comedy adventure like no other. Departing from the mini-game centric action of previous Rabbids games, Rabbids Go Home features open-world style mission gameplay centered around the Rabbids harebrained scheme to get to the moon. In true Rabbids form this entails over-the-top single player and multiplayer gameplay built around creating a pile made up of everyday and not so everyday items stolen from the consumer-crazed humans of planet Earth, that is literally tall enough to reach the edge of space.

Story
Rabbids Go Home is the Rabbids first comedy-adventure, and will take them to the moon or bust. This time around, those crazy Rabbids have what they consider an infallible plan: collect all the human stuff they can find, haul away, heap it onto a giant pile and literally climb home to the moon. Crazy? yes, but that’s the Rabbid’s story and they are sticking to it. But not so fast! The humans revolt, unleashing the Verminators, a bumbling group of shock troops whose only objective is to exterminate the Rabbids before they haul away everything that the humans have.

Gameplay
Unlike the action of previous Rabbids games which were made up of a compilation of mini-games, Rabbids Go Home is more of a driving adventure/platformer game. Set in both indoor and outdoor 3D environments, action is mission-based, 40+ in all, and built around the Rabbids desire to get to the moon. Keeping with the franchises irreverent, over-the-top humor, the Rabbid’s chosen means of doing this is to simply steal enough stuff from humans, pile it up and ascend that pile all the way to the moon. Since the moon is a long way away, a lot of stuff is needed to get there and this is where the player comes in.

Progressing through the open-world missions players control a team of two Rabbids, and their main tool used in collecting items, a shopping cart. Movement of all three are controlled via the Wii Remote/nunchuck controller configuration, with a speed boost available by hitting the “A” button. Items to be collected vary widely, ranging all the way from clothing literally scared off paranoid humans, to livestock, with collection areas occurring both horizontally and vertically throughout the gameplay area. Items that can be collected appear as circled in the gameplay environment, and the more mess and mayhem that your Rabbids create, the more items become available. Again, since the pile the Rabbids need to accumulate is hefty, the game features a checkpoint system where you can offload your stash and go back for more without taking the chance of losing what you have. When done collecting, items are flushed down a toilet, leading to a sewer pipe, that leads to the ever-growing pile. But gameplay is more than just a scavenger hunt. Eventually players have to deal with a mobilized resistance by humans to the Rabbids behavior made up of a combination of the anti-Rabbid Verminator corps, waves of surveillance robots and kennels full of attack dogs, all determined to exterminate the Rabbids. Players can also look forward to 2-player mission support and several online features.

Customization
Rabbids Go Home also contains a Wii-specific customization mode, known as “Ze Wiimote,” which mimics what the inside of players’ Wii remotes would look like if a Rabbid was literally inside it. Here players can can customize the look of their Rabbids with spray paint and sticker effects, and save their favorite versions for use in-game and trading with friends.

Key Game Features

  • The Rabbids First Comedy-Adventure – Control two Raving Rabbids and their shopping cart and cause mayhem in a world full of uptight humans with shopping on the brain. Collect varying sizes of human stuff to build the Rabbids sky-high pile of junk in their quest to reach the moon.
  • Make a huge mess and provoke hilarious situations in over 15 striking game environments – Scour through supermarkets, race across rooftops, jet past airports and boost through the Bayou, visiting the game’s unique take on everyday places.
  • Play over 40 missions – Race, chase, boost and generally run amok while scaring the Humans right down to their undies – literally! Ridicule reams of relentless enemies and their nasty pooches in an increasingly paranoid world of Rabbid-haters.
  • Unique Art Direction – Encounter a cast of colorful, oddball characters and explore a remarkable parody of the modern world as if you were living inside an interactive cartoon.
  • Variety of Gameplay – Soup up your shopping cart with a Jet Ski, an airplane reactor, or a hospital Bubble Bed to wreak endless havoc everywhere you turn. Learn to pilot your cart while boosting, jumping, gliding, floating and flying.
